CategoryĪnother way of organizing the building blocks is by category. You do have the option of creating a new gallery or assigning your new building block to another gallery. If you create a new building block, it will be put in the Quick Parts gallery. Examples of galleries are Cover Pages, Footers, Headers, Page Numbers, Quick Tables, and Watermarks. The organizer is by default listed according to Gallery, which is a way of dividing the building blocks into similar groups. The Building Blocks Organizer window appears. See Figure 1.įrom the drop-down list, choose Building Blocks Organizer. To see all of the building blocks that come pre-built within your Word application, click on the Insert tab and then click the Quick Parts button (in the Text group). They can be used again and again in Word files on your computer. Building blocks are pieces of document content or pre-defined items, like tables, lists, headers, and text boxes. If so, then you can benefit from using the Building Blocks feature in Word. Do you find yourself copying and pasting a paragraph from one document to another frequently?
